Dogs Don't Cry

have you ever seen a dog cry?
because you never will

they have no need to
they are nearly always happy

their only distant worry
when they will hear the food fall
or the time left till they roam free

but with the great happiness
they bear a terrifying curse
the loss of words to express the sadness
the comfort they cannot provide to the master

all they have are the drooping ears,
the pleading look'
and the tongue to lap up the tears

the tears they cannot shed
so they can have their great happiness
